Call for Papers —The Noësis: MWildhorse Strategy and Performance Magazine (2019)

Call for Papers The Noësis: MWildhorse Strategy and Performance Magazine 2019

Deadline: April 26, 2019

Visibility and simplicity―do you know an entrepreneur, a consultant, or business that could do without one or the other?

We didn’t think so.  So, we strive to give organizations and entrepreneurs the best of both.

In today’s world where the language of business expands almost daily and growth-related concepts can be tough to understand, The Noësis aims to bring understanding and simplicity —disambiguation.

Its content will facilitate understanding of tough business and development concepts― while accelerating the learning of industry language and how-to.

And by so doing help organizations and entrepreneurs get more out of their investment in consulting solutions. Practitioners and consultants can expect content that will help them to improve their craft.

The power of visibility as that first step towards building trust is one the worst kept secrets of today.

Still not all visibility carries the same weight. For that reason, this magazine is designed to provide opportunities for accelerating solid trust in your expertise and business.

It does this by highlighting successful Caribbean and Canadian entrepreneurs, business related educational content, research findings, issues, trends, companies, stories, commentaries, book reviews and entertainment pieces.  In the mix will be articles and stories focused on growth related topics such as strategy, marketing, trade, performance management and measurement, intellectual property, and the creative industries.

While the focus is on Canada and the Caribbean we embrace and look forward to sharing with the global community.  This publication welcomes guest contributors from all continents, cultures, and ethnicities.  We look forward to presenting a rich blend of content by and about ambitious startups, gazelles in the making, the ordinary, the extra-ordinary and mainstream businesses, business ecosystems, consultants, and professional service providers.

The publication is a hybrid Magazine/Professional Journal geared towards C-level executives, entrepreneurs, researchers, practitioners, and consultants with an interest in strategy, marketing, evaluation, organizational assessments, international trade, FDI, entrepreneurship and international development.  It will be circulated to senior executives, business owners, and libraries.

The new Canadian-Caribbean Magazine is the only business magazine designed to promote the culture of Caribbean entrepreneurship; and entrepreneurship as a desirable, feasible and viable economic activity for Caribbean immigrants in Canada and other diasporic markets of the Region.

We want to see the growth of high performing Caribbean businesses in all major diaspora markets. We want to see the Caribbean culture of entrepreneurship and its entrepreneurial DNA deliver significant impact to entrepreneurs and the markets in which the businesses call home— as well as those they serve.  But we also want to hear the voice of others with no Caribbean roots who would love to meet and collaborate with Caribbeans through this publication.

To ensure simplicity and visibility we provide information, stimulate debate, share research, cases, and stories for ensuring organizational leaders and team have the necessary information for strategy success in starting and growing their businesses.  We want to see greater impact from international development initiatives especially in ACP Countries; therefore, we will address those issues and explore solutions.

The Noësis: MWildhorse Strategy and Performance Magazine

In 2016, we decided to take our client learning digest to you in the form of a hybrid Magazine/Professional Journal— The Noësis: MWildhorse Strategy and Performance Magazine.

Some of you are familiar with The Noësis, the brainchild of Meegan Scott. A publication first released in 2013 as a learning aide for ensuring our clients fully understand, appreciate and leverage their consulting solutions.

springcover2018sampleIn 2018, we present to you a magazine with the same themes and two additional objectives.  The publication maintains its purpose to simplify and facilitate understanding of tough business and development concepts while accelerating the learning of industry language and how-to.

It does this through its content—showcasing of successful Caribbean and Canadian entrepreneurs, research findings, issues, trends, companies, stories, commentaries, book reviews and entertainment pieces.  Articles and stories focus on growth related topics such as strategy, marketing, trade, performance management and measurement, intellectual property and the creative industries.

The new Magazine is the only business magazine designed to promote the culture of Caribbean entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship as a desirable, feasible and viable economic activity for Caribbean immigrants in Canada and other diasporic markets of the Caribbean.

Providing a forum for awakening desire, driving aspiration and moving significantly more Caribbean immigrants to answer the call of entrepreneurship— is a new objective for the publication.  We want to see the growth of high performing Caribbean businesses in all major Diaspora markets. We want to see the Caribbean culture of entrepreneurship and its entrepreneurial DNA deliver significant impact to entrepreneurs and the markets in which the businesses call home— as well as those they serve.

Hence, we will provide information, stimulate debate, share research and stories for ensuring you have the necessary information for strategy success in starting and growing your businesses.  We want to see greater impact from international development initiatives especially in ACP Countries; therefore, we will address those issues and explore solutions.

Towards that end we are providing a forum through which emerging and seasoned researchers, consultants and practitioners in Canada, ACP Countries, the Caribbean and its Diaspora can share the findings of their research, connect with entrepreneurs and issues facing organizational leaders and their teams both within and external to the Caribbean community. That commitment unveiled the second of your new objectives.

What motivated me to upgrade and expand “The Noësis: MWildhorse Strategy and Learning Digest” to the current The Noësis: MWildhorse Strategy and Performance Magazine?

Learnings from our consulting engagements, discussions with entrepreneurs, lived experience as a Caribbean-Canadian entrepreneur and research into our performance as entrepreneurs in Canada and other Diaspora markets.

I take this opportunity to invite you to submit original research notes, opinions, technical reports, articles, anecdotes,cartoons, and stories (Both of triumph and failures).

The Magazine is sponsored by Magate Wildhorse Ltd., but will allow for limited advertising by one or two brands per issue.

The success of this publication and its objective depends on your response and actions.  We are committed to updating The Noësis based on your needs and feedback.

Thank you for your feedback and subscriptions.

Living Our Purpose

formagatepurpose

Are you a not-for-profit organization?

We are asked this question at least once each quarter.

So, here’s the answer.

No.

We just take the social component of our business seriously.

We believe organizations, government departments, international development projects and professionals should have top-notch yet affordable services in the categories that we offer.

The reason being, those services are fundamental to the success of all organizations.  We offer corporate strategy planning, strategic planning, research, training, performance management and measurement as well as strategic marketing solutions for ensuring organizations can grow and succeed.

We know how important project management and strategy communication is to ensuring success in moving from strategy and plan to impactful execution. Hence, we provide support to organizations as well as to professionals who are looking for that confidential backstopping support or adjunct team member.

Our decision to leverage technology, conduct research and offer affordable yet high quality solutions was driven by the challenges we observed in different types of organizations and economies. Both developed and developing countries share the need for the kind of solutions that we offer.

Without them the nightmares related to relevance, impact, market share, growth, profit or funding can be horrific. Many organizations that became casualties along the organizational start, growth and re-invention cycle could have been thriving with access to the kinds of solutions that we offer. So, could many that struggle today.

Many professionals are now beginning to realize how our solutions can help them to deliver the outcomes expected of them.

Rigour, evidence-based, relevant, value, quality and doable comes with our solutions.

Still we strive to pack in fun, simplicity and shorter planning to execution times.

We are proud to offer our solutions— for a profit.

But we are also proud to ensure some organizations and individuals who cannot afford our solutions but whose work support a greater good for a community, country, region or group can access our solutions.

Each year we live our purpose by doing the following:

  • Make accessible significantly discounted organizational assessments and strategy planning solutions;
  • Contribute of our operational time and expertise to organizations;
  • Provide free or discounted workshops or coaching sessions;
  • Provide guidance free of charge or at a significantly donated rate to a professional in need of support;
  • Contribute a component of a solution to a client whose budget cannot support it; and
  • Share content that will help our clients and audiences to make the most of their consulting or execution solutions.

We do not exclude for-profit entities from our purpose driven solutions— because growing and fledging entities and their leaders are sometimes excluded from free or low-cost solutions. Sometimes they are excluded by their own schedules which conflict with the time for accessing free services during their prime production hours.  Entrepreneurs who are over 40 and just getting into business represent such a group.

The Noësis: MWildhorse Strategy and Performance Magazine serves as a vehicle through which we can live and share our purpose with wider audiences. It also provides an opportunity for practitioners, researchers, academia and students to achieve their goals while contributing to our purpose and to sharing our results.

“Helping organizations transcend expected levels of success, despite the constraint of size.”

We are proud to be a for-profit entity with a lived commitment and investment in the greater good!
