Meegan Scott, B.Sc. Hons, MBA, ATM-B, CL, PMP is a Strategic Management Consultant and serial entrepreneur who serves in both organizational and international development. She has 20 years of significant experience serving Jamaica, Canada, and the Caribbean.

Meegan works with leadership, senior management, entrepreneurs, and teams in government, medium-sized and small non-profits, international development projects, and private sector organizations. She serves organizations and entrepreneurs in the areas of corporate strategy―including planning and execution; organizational performance management and measurement; strategic marketing; behaviour change marketing; private sector development; trade; entrepreneur and organizational growth.

She is a neo-generalist with specialist’s competence in multiple areas including ― strategic management, finance, environment and sanitation, project management, business process analysis, market systems development; climate finance strategy planning; market systems development; monitoring and measurement of private sector development programmes; research, business incubation, and resource mobilization. Meegan manages the processes of contracting, designing, planning, executing, monitoring, ensuring learning as well as reporting on solutions at Magate Wildhorse Consulting (Toronto and New York).

Whether serving as the sole consultant, through her team or with other associates, Meegan brings big picture thinking, execution know-how, in addition to diverse sector and international experience.  She comes with tools and processes for accelerating performance improvement, growth, simplification, and fun. Her track record includes helping client organizations to secure eighty percent (80%) to one hundred percent (100%) of available funding.

Meegan led the movement for establishing Caribbean Evaluators’ International and served as its Founding Board Chair.  She is a member of the Association for Strategic Planning (ASP), the American Evaluation Association, and the Project Management Institute (PMI).  Meegan held membership in North American Business Incubation Associations, and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM, UK). She is a former member of Toastmasters’ International, International Facilitators Association, and Past President of the University of New Orleans Alumni―Jamaica, Chapter.

Ms. Scott is a different kind of performance catalyst – who is known as a powerful outlier in provoking strategy re-think, and pushing teams to shift a singular focus on risk management to risk intelligence. Meegan holds an MBA (Marketing and Finance focused with Capstone in Strategy); a B.Sc. In International Relations; a Diploma in International Environmental Law; studies towards the LLM International Trade and Finance Law, and the designation PMP.  She comes with professional accounting knowledge gained through studies under the Association for Certified Chartered Accountant Professional Program (ACCA).  She also holds certificates in Event Development and Production; Negotiation of Financial Transactions; Market Research; Market Systems DevelopmentPerforming Effectively in Multilateral Conferences and Diplomacy.

In addition, Meegan has completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Analyst for IT and Services Professionals. She also holds certificates in Monitoring, and Evaluation, Statistics for Environment and Policy, Participatory Planning, Lean Six Sigma, Insurance and Investments. She has been trained in proposal and business plan writing.

Meegan has taught at the post secondary and professional levels, and is a Certified Google Educator; and a trained workshop & group process facilitator with experience delivering solutions virtually as well as face-to-face.  Computer-Aided Information Systems (ACCA CAT), Strategic Planning, Cause Marketing, Risk Management, Product Knowledge are among the courses she has taught.  Her training experience includes the development and production of a television series for businesses, as well as radio drama for sanitation, health, and environment.  She has developed and produced major events, including panel discussions with international panelists, and international conferences, served on planning committees and addressed conference audiences in the Caribbean and North America.

Ms. Scott has authored articles, blog posts, and created various social media and Internet platforms for clients.

In 2013 she merged two consulting brands― registered in Jamaica and the Commonwealth of Dominica to form Magate Wildhorse. Prior to that Meegan served as internal and external consultant to a number of entities spanning various industry sector and countries.

Meegan’s community service includes service to several Board of Directors, the most recent being Manchester High Alumni, Toronto, Chapter, and The Parkdale Neighbourhood Land Trust. She is the founder, program manager, and secretariat chair for The Community of Practice for Caribbean Immigrant Entrepreneurs (which serves all the Region’s diasporic markets). Her advocacy for the CoP has been published in The Caribbean Camera, Caribbean Life News, and the South Florida Caribbean News. She also volunteers for various community events, and writes on issues of concern to entrepreneurs, the Black and Caribbean Community, as well as plays and entertainment reviews. She also hosts Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrations in Canada with inclusion of Caribbean and North American entrepreneurs at home and in the diaspora.

Meegan is also the publisher of The Noësis, a strategy and performance magazine/journal that also focuses on entrepreneurs and is intended to facilitate increased levels of authorship among entrepreneurs of Canadian, Caribbean, and African heritage.
