Daniel Maposa, B.Sc. Hons, MSc, PhD, is a senior lecturer in the Department of Statistics and Operations Research in the School of Mathematical & Computer Sciences, Faculty of Science & Agriculture, at the University of Limpopo. In addition, he serves as Associate, Statistics and Research to Magate Wildhorse Ltd.
Dr. Daniel holds a PhD degree in Extreme Value Statistics, a Master of Science in Operations Research and Statistics, and a Bachelor’s (Honours degree), in Applied Mathematics. Dr. Maposa has published more than 21 research articles in internationally accredited journals including Taylor & Francis Group, Copernicus Publications, Inderscience, and Crop Research. He published a book chapter in Taylor & Francis Group, which was also shared in three accredited conference proceedings.
Dr. Maposa has traveled and presented his research extensively at international conferences. Zealand, Australia, China, Switzerland, Brazil, Morocco, and Botswana are among the countries in which he shared his research with international conference audiences.
Daniel is a registered professional natural scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat.) in Statistical Sciences & Mathematical Sciences and is a member of International Statistical Institute (ISI), member of South African Statistical Association (SASA) and member of Operations Research Society of South Africa (ORSSA).
He is also a regular attendee at the annual conference of the South African Statistical Association (SASA), and the ISI World Statistics Conference (which is held bi-annually).
Dr. Maposa is a senior university lecturer with international experience. He has taught several statistics and applied mathematics courses at Monash South Africa (A campus of Monash University Australia); National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Zimbabwe; and University of Limpopo, South Africa. Currently he lectures in Multivariate Data Analysis and Categorical Data Analysis for the Honours degree in Statistics, at the University of Limpopo.
Dr. Maposa has also taught several operations research modules at the university including Advanced Linear Programming, Integer Programming, Dynamical Systems and Queueing Models.
He holds a certificate of competence in Doctorial Supervision, and is currently an external examiner in the field of Statistical sciences for the University of Johannesburg (UJ), University of Witwatersrand (Wits), Monash University, University of the Free State (UFS), North-West University (NWU) and University of Venda (UNIVEN).
